On March 1st, Worcester Academy hosted John Morello, who performed a one-man show on drugs, alcohol, and other issues that influence high school students today. Attendees at the one-man show, “Dirt,” included the junior, senior, and postgraduate class. Mr. Morello’s presentation focuses on topics not often discussed in a regular classroom setting in an unconventional and creative way. Students appreciated his style and how he did not preach to his audience. Drawing from his own experiences with drugs and alcohol in his family, Mr. Morello’s attitude towards these issues is casual but he certainly does not take them lightly. His approach to these problematic issues is very real and applicable to the average high school student. He offers his story to students as an opportunity for them to learn from his past.
