House System is Up and Running

With two score-able events in the rearview mirror, the BOM is pleased to provide the current points standings between the Houses. Although it seems we have some natural leaders emerging, its still very early in the season and we look to see more heated competition in the events to come. Up to date rankings will now be available from this location: Accumulated House Points Spread (brought to you by Google Docs!)

On November 9th we saw the first of many in school House Competitions to finish up the assembly. The epic battle of tug of war brought many courageous contestants, yet it was the team from Hoffman House which emerged victorious. Congrats to these champions, and thank you to all of those who participated!

The points distribution for the House System is shaping up to be a simple and fair process, and we strive to provide the utmost transparency behind all points awarded. Point clusters will be awarded in increments of 10 and decided per House placement in competitions. Where this process differs from our traditional class competitions is that it can be extended into other activities. With the start of the Second trimester, we plan to begin incorporating opportunities for House Points into  social venues, like games and arts productions, where House attendance can be calculated. For a detailed look into all events scoring, please frequent this doc: House Comps and Points Breakdown (also Google Docs!)

If you have any questions regarding the House system, or other student matters, please feel free to contact the BOM either in person or via email!
