College Commits

Penn State, Drexel, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Bryant, Clemson and Assumption are just some of the colleges that Worcester Academy students will be furthering their athletic careers at next fall. Pat Ackerman (Penn State), Tavon Allen (Drexel) and Jordan Wejnert (UMBC) are three basketball players that have already committed to Division One colleges. Emily Barbato will continue her playing days on the soccer field, as she has known for quite a while that she will be attending Bryant University. Also, two new commits this past week include Kathryn Andreoli who will be attending Clemson University for crew and Chrissy Lyons who will be enrolling at Assumption College for tennis. When asked about her recent choice, Chrissy’s eyes lit up with happiness. She said, “[She] was so excited when [she] finally made the decision because [she] knew it was the perfect fit both academically and athletically.” This joy that was so evident in her reaction characterizes all six of these recruits’ mindsets. Each of these talented individuals have worked incredibly hard to accomplish such difficult feats. Their dedication and passion for their respective sports have allowed them to have success throughout their high school careers. The entire Worcester Academy community wishes them luck next year at their respective colleges.
